Understanding your Readiness Score
What Pulsyn Readiness Score measures, how the bands map to your day, and the six contributors behind it.

Readiness Score is a 0–100 snapshot of how prepared your body is for strain and activity today. It blends overnight recovery signals with recent workload and environmental context.
Score bands
The app labels Readiness Score in four bands:
- Optimal: 85 and above
- Good: 70 to 84
- Fair: 50 to 69
- Pay attention: below 50
A higher score usually means you can handle a harder day. A lower score means you should keep the load lighter.
The six contributors
Readiness Score uses six contributors shown in the app:
- Sleep quality: last night’s Sleep Score.
- HRV: heart-rate variability compared with your baseline.
- Resting heart rate: your resting heart rate compared with your baseline.
- Training load impact: strain accumulated over the last 72 hours.
- Body temperature: skin temperature deviation from your personal baseline.
- Recovery index: parasympathetic recovery time during sleep.
Each contributor is evaluated relative to your own baseline. The same absolute value can mean different things for different people.
Contextual adjustments
The app adjusts the score when it detects a temporary physiological context:
- Luteal phase: a small adjustment during the luteal phase helps interpret elevated temperature.
- Heat: sustained heat exposure can shift the score.
- Altitude: sustained SpO2 dip with elevated heart rate triggers an altitude adjustment.
- Jet lag: a recent large bedtime shift can cap the score while you adapt.
These adjustments keep the score aligned with your current state.
How the score is produced
On-device machine-learning models weight the contributors according to your history. Personal calibration improves over the first weeks of wear.
Using Readiness with North
North uses your Readiness Score to surface trend insights and coaching suggestions. A drop over several days can trigger a recovery-focused recommendation.
