Pro cloud sync and encryption
How Pulsyn Pro cloud sync works, how your data is encrypted, and where it is stored.
Last updated: July 13, 2026
Pulsyn Pro includes optional cloud sync. It is off by default, and you can turn it on or off at any time from the app. When enabled, your data is backed up to the cloud so you can move between devices without losing your history.
End-to-end encrypted
Cloud sync is end-to-end encrypted with keys only you hold. Your data is encrypted on your device before it is transmitted. We store encrypted blobs that we cannot read.
This is the same zero-knowledge architecture described in our Privacy Policy: decryption keys never leave your device unless you explicitly choose Pulsyn Pro key management, and even then Pulsyn cannot assist with recovery.
Where your data is stored
Encrypted health data is stored on EU servers in Frankfurt, Germany, hosted on SOC 2 Type II audited infrastructure. This keeps your synced data inside the European Economic Area and subject to full GDPR protections.
Cloud AI is separate from cloud sync
Pulsyn Pro also adds cloud AI features. When you use cloud AI, the relevant context is sent to our US inference provider, Fireworks.ai, to generate your answer and is not retained. Cloud sync is different. It stores your encrypted historical data in the EU. You can read more in North and your privacy.
What happens if you turn cloud sync off
Disabling cloud sync stops future uploads. Any encrypted data already in the cloud remains until you delete it through the app. You can remove it permanently using the steps in Deleting your data and account.
Why you might want it
Cloud sync is useful if you:
- want to move your data to a new phone without a manual transfer
- use Pulsyn on more than one device
- want an encrypted backup independent of your phone
It is not required for any core tracking or AI feature. Free-tier users get full on-device processing.
