Setting up your profile and goals
How to configure your profile, default home tab, and wellness goals after onboarding.
Last updated: July 13, 2026
Onboarding asks for the basics, but you can refine your profile and goals at any time. These settings live on-device. They shape the app’s layout and North's coaching tone.
Profile
In Settings > Profile you can update:
- Display name: used by North and in-app greetings.
- Avatar: a visual identity inside the app.
- Biographical inputs: age, sex, height, and weight. The app uses these to personalize score ranges and coaching context. They are not uploaded anywhere unless you later enable Pro cloud sync.
Default home tab
During Navbar Setup you choose which tab opens first. Common choices are:
- Today: a quick overview of the current day.
- Sleep: last night and recent sleep trends.
- Readiness: recovery-focused view.
- North: the North Coach briefing and chat.
You can change the default tab later in Settings > Preferences > Default Tab.
Wellness goals
In Settings > Goals you can set initial targets for:
- Daily steps.
- Weekly activity minutes.
- Sleep duration.
- Movement and recovery balance.
These goals are informational, not medical prescriptions. North uses them to calibrate reminders and daily summaries. You can adjust them as your routine changes.
Activity level
Your activity level setting from onboarding also appears here. If you move from a mostly sedentary routine to a more active one, update this value so strain and recovery scores stay aligned with your actual load.
