Units and display preferences

How to switch between metric and imperial units, set your default tab, and configure notification preferences in the Pulsyn app.

Last updated: July 13, 2026

You choose your units during onboarding, but you can change them at any time in Settings > Preferences.

Metric vs Imperial

The app supports both systems. You can set them independently:

  • Weight: kilograms or pounds.
  • Height: centimeters or feet/inches.
  • Distance: kilometers or miles.
  • Temperature: Celsius or Fahrenheit.

Changing a unit updates every place that value appears. This includes trends, charts, and North summaries.

Default home tab

Your default home tab controls which screen opens when you launch the app. Choices include Today, Sleep, Readiness, Activity, and North. You can change this in Settings > Preferences > Default Tab.

Notification preferences

In Settings > Notifications you can turn categories on or off:

  • Daily briefing: the morning North summary.
  • Streak reminders: prompts to log a journal entry.
  • Wellness alerts: unusual trend flags, such as elevated resting heart rate.
  • Goal progress: updates when you hit daily or weekly targets.

These notifications are local to your phone. They do not require an internet connection or cloud account.

Biometric lock

If you skipped Face ID or fingerprint lock during onboarding, enable it in Settings > Security. This adds a system-level lock before the app opens. It protects your wellness data if someone else handles your phone.
