Using the Journal
How to use the Pulsyn Journal for daily notes, favorites, streaks, reminders, templates, search, and trash.
Last updated: July 13, 2026
The Journal is a private place inside the Pulsyn app for free-form notes, context, and self-reflection. Use it to log how you feel, what you did, or anything that might help North understand your wellness patterns over time.
What you can do
- Free-form entries: write daily notes with a simple text editor.
- Favorites: pin important entries so they are easy to find.
- Streaks: track how many consecutive days you have added an entry.
- Reminders: set a recurring prompt so journaling becomes a habit.
- Schedule: view past entries by date.
- Search: find older entries by keyword.
- Templates: reuse common entry structures, such as morning check-ins or workout notes.
- Trash: recover recently deleted entries before they are permanently removed.
- Insights: surface patterns that connect your journal tags with biometric trends.
Important privacy note
Journal data is stored on-device only and is never synced to the cloud, even for Pulsyn Pro subscribers. If you switch phones or uninstall the app without a local backup, your journal entries will not transfer. This is intentional. Your journal stays with you, not with us.
How North uses the Journal
North can read your journal entries locally to improve coaching context. For example, an entry that says "late coffee" may appear alongside a sleep note the next morning. This correlation happens entirely on your phone. No journal text is sent to Pulsyn servers.
Tips for useful entries
- Keep entries short and specific. "Hard run, poor sleep" is more useful than a long narrative.
- Use consistent tags or phrases so search and insights can group related entries.
- Review favorites before a North coaching check-in for a quick reminder of recurring patterns.
