Meet North
What North is, where it runs, and how it fits into the Pulsyn app.
Last updated: July 13, 2026
North is the AI coach inside the Pulsyn app. It reads your Rune 1 data and turns it into plain-language guidance about sleep, recovery, strain, and daily performance.
By default, North runs entirely on your phone. The model is local, so your questions and North's answers stay on your device. After a sync, you can use it offline, wherever you are.
North does not replace a doctor, trainer, or medical professional. It is a wellness companion. It surfaces patterns, explains what your metrics mean, and suggests small adjustments you can try.
What makes North different
Most health apps show charts. North connects the dots across them. Poor sleep, a rising resting heart rate, and a skin-temperature tick are not three separate alerts. North can explain how they relate and what to watch.
That context-awareness comes from a few things:
- On-device by default. Your conversation history and memories stay on your phone. They are not sent to a remote model by default.
- Cross-metric reasoning. North can pull from sleep, recovery, strain, HRV, temperature, and activity in a single response.
- A memory of you. North builds a picture of your patterns over time: what you ask, what it learns, and what you care about. You control that memory.
- Conversational personality. North's interface uses expressive states so the experience feels like a conversation.
Where to find North
North lives in the Pulsyn mobile app, under the North tab. From there you can chat, view your coaching feed, open the memory browser, and manage your tier. These docs describe North. They are not a chat interface themselves.
Getting started
Pair your ring, complete your first sync, and open the North tab. The first time you chat, North uses your recent data to introduce itself. The more nights and days you log, the richer its guidance becomes.
If you want deeper analysis and longer memory, upgrade to Pulsyn Pro inside the app. See On-device vs Pro cloud for the exact differences.
