Privacy and North

How North handles your data, where processing happens, and where to learn more.

Last updated: July 13, 2026

North is designed to tell you more about yourself while asking for less trust. By default, your AI coaching happens on your phone. You choose when, if ever, to use the cloud tier.

On-device is the default

For free users and Pro users who keep the on-device setting, every North conversation and memory stays on your phone. The model runs locally, so your questions and North's answers do not travel to a remote server.

Pro cloud is optional

Pulsyn Pro subscribers can enable the cloud tier for deeper reasoning and a longer memory window. When you use the cloud tier, your request is processed in Pulsyn's encrypted EU cloud. You can switch back to on-device at any time.

Voice stays local

If you have North read a response aloud, the text-to-speech audio playback happens entirely on your device. Audio does not leave your phone.

For the full privacy model, including data storage, encryption, export, deletion, and account-level controls, see the Data & Privacy category and our Privacy Policy. The FAQ also has a short answer about how Pulsyn handles your data.

This article stays brief on purpose. Privacy details belong in the dedicated privacy documentation, not duplicated here.
