Keeping your ring connected

Rune 1 uses Bluetooth 5.2 BLE to talk to the Pulsyn app. The connection uses little power. The ring wakes briefly to stream data, then sleeps again. This back-and-forth is how Rune 1 reaches up to 7 days of battery life.

What normal connection looks like

You do not need to open the app every few minutes. As long as Bluetooth is enabled on your phone and the Pulsyn app is allowed to run in the background, the ring will sync throughout the day and night.

Typical behavior:

• The ring streams data when it is near your phone and movement or a scheduled sync wakes it.
• Some overnight metrics are stored on the ring and streamed in batches during the night or the next morning.
• The app shows a connected or last synced status on the Home or Ring screen.

If you reset the ring, reinstall the app, or switch phones

You do not need to repeat the entire onboarding, but you will need to pair the ring again. The first-time pairing flow is documented in Pairing your ring. The same steps apply when:

• You factory-reset the ring.
• You delete and reinstall the Pulsyn app.
• You upgrade to a new phone.

Keep the ring charged and near your phone during re-pairing. If the app asks for Bluetooth or location permissions again, allow them. On Android, the location permission is only used for BLE scanning. The app does not track your location.

Background syncing and battery settings

Some phones put unused apps to sleep aggressively. If sync feels delayed, check that the Pulsyn app is exempted from battery optimization in your phone's settings. This is usually under Settings > Apps > Pulsyn > Battery.
