Multiple devices and switching phones

How Rune 1 handles pairing with more than one phone, and what to do when you move to a new device.

Last updated: July 13, 2026

Rune 1 pairs with one phone at a time. This keeps the Bluetooth link simple and reliable, and keeps data flowing cleanly between the ring and the device that holds your local database.

Pairing with a second phone

Pairing the ring with a new phone unpairs it from the previous phone. The new phone becomes the active owner of the ring connection. Your data on the previous phone stays in the Pulsyn app on that device unless you delete the app or remove it.

To switch:

  1. Open the Pulsyn app on the new phone.
  2. Go to Settings > Ring and start the pairing flow.
  3. Allow Bluetooth and location permissions when prompted.
  4. Keep the ring on your finger or near the phone until pairing succeeds.

For the step-by-step first-pairing flow, see Pairing your ring.

What does and does not transfer

The ring itself only streams new data once it is paired with the new phone. Any data already synced into the previous phone's local database remains on that phone. Pulsyn Pro subscribers who have opted into encrypted cloud sync can restore history on the new device from the cloud. Without cloud sync, the new phone starts fresh.

If you keep an old phone nearby

Close the Pulsyn app on the old phone and turn off Bluetooth there if you want the new phone to connect reliably. If both phones try to reach the ring, the ring may keep switching between them and the connection can feel unstable.
